One of the reasons for the success of The Cancer Therapy and Research Center (CTRC) in the areas of scientific research, clinical treatment, education and outreach is the generosity and commitment of individuals, foundations, corporations, and organizations who want CTRC to be one of the premier NCI-designated cancer centers in the country.
Cancer research and outreach activities are expensive. Grants and enlightened philanthropy have helped to provide the financial means necessary for CTRC to:
* Conduct Phase I clinical trials, testing new, promising anticancer drugs
* Support numerous multidisciplinary clinics.
* Purchase and maintain the latest diagnostic, treatment and research equipment.
* Train young researchers to continue advancement of knowledge in this critical field.
Sponsor regional, national, and international educational symposia and seminars for both our researchers and our communities.
We have made significant progress in better understanding the biology of cancer, identifying new targets for treatment, and rapidly translating the benefits of these exciting discoveries to cancer patients in our community. Unfortunately, many of our programs are continually challenged by the need for new technologies and expertise, increasing costs, and insufficient funds. Our patients and our community look to the Cancer Therapy and Research Center to be a leader in cancer diagnosis, treatment, prevention and education. We continue to strive to fulfill this mission, but we need your help!
We invite you to be a CTRC benefactor. Your gift can be designated to specific areas of cancer research or outreach, or allowed to be used where the need is greatest.
If you wish to make a gift, please specify that your donation is to the Cancer Therapy and Research Center and make it payable to CTRC-UTHSCSA. You may mail it to:
